“Beer? No, thanks” ! That was my answer before living in Belgium.
I moved to Gent on my 21’s to finish my bachelor. I barely spoke English and it was the first time I travelled abroad, but I made my mind up and I left, alone and shaking like a leaf.
Later I realised that, despite my fears, I couldn’t have taken a better decision: it was the beginning of a new world to me. I still remember how amazed I was for every tiny thing that surrounded me: the cities’ architecture, the people and their habits, the infinite variety of beers or the taste of their chocolates and waffles. These are just some examples that inspired me and the reason why I’ll always feel admiration for this little country in the heart of Europe
